2011 Calendar Photography Competition

Picture the scene for the ARCHIE Foundation!

The ARCHIE Foundation is launching a competition to find 12 scenes from across Grampian, Orkney and/or Shetland for a new calendar being launched in 2011.
 
Budding photographers of all ages are encouraged to take pictures of local scenery and settings from throughout the north east and to enter their efforts for consideration.
 
A panel of judges including staff from the Children’s Hospital will select the winning entries and the A3 calendar will be on sale by November this year!
 
Closing date for entries is June 1st 2010 and a full list of competition terms and conditions can be found below.

Calendar Photography Competition 2011

 

Competition Rules

 

  • The ARCHIE Foundation is the Official Charity of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and Community based Child Health throughout Grampian, Orkney and Shetland.
  • The ARCHIE Foundation will select 12 photographs of scenes from throughout the areas of Grampian, Orkney and/or Shetland entered as part of this Competition to be included in the 2011 ARCHIE Foundation Calendar.
  • Photographs must be of a scene within this geographical area.
  • Entries are limited to one photograph per entrant.
  • There is no age restriction on entry.
  • The competition is open to non-UK residents.
  • Copyright of the photograph must belong to the entrant.
  • Entrants can only submit their own work.
  • Photographs must be taken with a digital camera.
  • Photographs must be clear and in colour.Photographs should be of the following specification:
    1. Picture should be 300dpi and will be printed at A4 - landscape.
    2. Therefore should have minimum pixel dimensions of 3189 x 2244.
    3. If using your digital camera – set the image quality to maximum.
  • Photographs will not be returned to entrants.
  • Entrants are asked to confirm that the photograph has not and will not be submitted to other photographic competitions.
  • Submission of an entry is deemed as acceptance that you have read, understand and agree to abide by these rules.
  • Entrants hereby grant the ARCHIE Foundation shared copyright in the photograph and the ARCHIE Foundation reserves the right to use, reproduce, exhibit and publish all entries (including provision to thirdparties), with an acknowledgement of the photographer wherever possible.
  • A panel of judges, appointed by The ARCHIE Foundation, will select the winning entries. The panels’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The closing date for entries is 1st June 2010
  • The winners will be notified, in writing, by 31st July 2010.
