Maersk Oil Employees have Team Building Day with a Difference!
An enthusiastic team of 30 volunteers from the Petroleum Engineering Department at Maersk Oil and Gas in Aberdeen were slipping on their gardening gloves today in order to landscape the gardens of the Young People's Department (YPD) at Royal Aberdeen Cornhill Hospital for a team-building day out.
Employees are devoting the day to restoring and transforming the gardens to give patients and staff a pleasant area to enjoy. As well as donating plants and paint, the team had been tasked to completely landscape the gardens, undertake weeding and painting the garden shed.
Maersk Oil and Gas have recently named the ARCHIE Foundation, the Official Charity of Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital as their Charity of the Year, and the day was organised in conjunction with the ARCHIE Foundation. The Maersk employees had requested if they could have their team-building day undertaking tasks for a good cause.
The ARCHIE Foundation are also in the process of re-vamping the waiting areas within the YPD at Cornhill Hospital in order to make them more aesthetically pleasing, child friendly environments.
