A red carpet event with a difference was held in Elgin on Sunday 27th June, 2010. The Moray Friends of ARCHIE held a children's red carpet cinema event to help raise money to improve the facilities for children at Dr. Gray's Elgin G-Med Centre.

The children were asked to 'dress their best to look good on the red carpet' and enjoyed watching the film 'Alvin and the Chipmunks' at the Moray Playhouse (Elgin Cinema). A red carpet was provided by Rev. Maggie Whyte from her church in Aberdeen, and a raffle was also held on the day with various prizes, many of which had been donated by local businesses.

Nikki Young, who is Secretary of Moray Friends of ARCHIE, and one of the event organisers commented, "We raised £257.22 in total for the ARCHIE Foundation and are grateful to everyone who supported this fun event. Local children loved the opportunity to dress up in their best clothes and walk down the red carpet, and there to greet them was ARCHIE and Scotty. We hope to do something similar soon."
