Gardening Volunteers required

Green-fingered volunteers are immediately required by the ARCHIE Foundation to help maintain a garden that is currently being used for therapeutic purposes at the Young People's Department of Royal Aberdeen Cornhill Hospital.

The garden was originally developed by a team of students from Robert Gordon University who fundraised to purchase equipment and then spent a weekend in 2009 digging, planting and even building to create the wonderful facility.

In June this year, a team of employees from the Petroleum Engineering Department at Maersk North Sea (U.K.) Limited then spent a team-building day getting the gardens ready for summer by weeding and planting a wealth of plants they kindly donated.

Peter Hutchison, Community Fundraising Manager at the ARCHIE Foundation said, "The students from RGU did a great job setting this garden up and Maersk have now made a huge effort to help get the garden ready for the summer. However, looking ahead we would love someone (or a team of people) to come and maintain this beautiful garden, to call it their 'own' and enjoy witnessing the fruits of their labour."

Interested Volunteers can contact the ARCHIE office on 01224 559559 or email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
