Ellon Academy Pupils help judge ARCHIE'S pumpkin picture competition for Halloween

As part of the Youth Philanthropic Intiative (YPI),  three pupils from Ellon Academy visited the ARCHIE Foundation on the 28th October to learn more about our work for their school presentation to win £3,000 for The ARCHIE Foundation. YPI is a unique schools programme that empowers young people to tackle issues in their local area. It presents a fantastic opportunity for supporters to channel funds to worthy organisations. Funded with private capital, YPI enables schools, charities, large corporations and young people to work together to improve local communities.

During their visit and tour around the children's hospital, they also helped ARCHIE and Play Services judge the 'best' pumpkin competition as part of the Halloween play activities at the children's hospital.

Cassie Thompson commented "It was impossible to judge the best one as each pumpkin picture had its own special character. We decided to judge the winning one on how it stood out the best. The runner ups were based more on the technique and colour. I would like to thank all of the children for entering and to Play for coordinating this. Thanks also to Emily, Karen and Laura for helping to judge the winning one. We wish you the very best of luck with your presentation."

ARCHIE has provided many play-related items over the years, including toys, books and games, alongside sensory and soft play rooms.
