Birthday celebration raises £300 for ARCHIE
Kevin Tracy of Banchory celebrated his 40th birthday in October by raising £300 for The ARCHIE Foundation in gratitude for his son's health. A further £300 was donated to The Meningitus Trust. Findlay now aged 8 was only 4 months old when he was diagnosed with Meningitus. Thankfully Findlay has no real long term effects caused by this terrible disease and the family feel fortunate that Findlay was a little fighter and is here with them today.
Kevin asked all of his guests to give donations to the two organisations rather than bringing gifts to his party, he told us. "I wanted to do this to give something back to help both charities continue to do the great work that they do today. Both The Meningitus Trust and ARCHIE are personal to my family and I. And I would like to thank all my family and friends for giving so geneorusly so I could raise this fantastic sum of money."
Kevin further comented "The Royal Aberdeen Children were excellent during the 2 weeks that Findlay was in hospital. They were great support to Lynne and I during that very difficult time and every day we are grateful that our son Findlay pulled through. We just can't thank them enough for everything that they did for us."
Gail Gordon, Community Fundraiser also commented "On behalf of ARCHIE, I would like to say a very warm thanks to Kevin for celebrating his 40th birthday for ARCHIE and raising such a fantastic amount. We really do appreciate his kind and generous thought as the money raised will make a real difference to children and their families at the children's hospital when they really need it most."
