Amazing fundraising efforts from all staff at HRH Geology raise a grand total of £5,026.65

At the end of 2009, HRH Geology explored the potential for an increase in staff participation in their corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme where in the first year they raised £10,000, giving over £5,000 to both to ARCHIE and Macmillan. Owing to the success of this effort and the sustained support from HRH Geology who match all individual donations pound for pound, the staff continued their labours to raise another incredible £10,000 for 2011.

The year long efforts of the staff have been magnificent and they have also exceeded their fundraising target, having taken part in the following events:

  • A virtual team race to gain miles through exercise for the whole of February
  • Fund raising participating in:
  • Car washing
  • Cooking
  • Cake baking and coffee mornings
  • Psychic nights
  • Race nights
  • Raffles
  • The Edinburgh marathon
  • An HRH Geology golf day

The Managing Director, David Harrison said “To match the effort of last year and raise a further £10,000 for charity is a fantastic achievement from everyone here at HRH Geology. I am proud to have a workforce that realises the importance of helping others less fortunate and take time out of their busy lives to support two wonderful causes and really make a difference to those who need our help. I would also like to thank everyone; customers, friends and relatives, who have supported their efforts by donating money towards The Archie Foundation and Macmillan Cancer Support.”

“The presentations made by both charities were moving and touching and helped motivate the HRH Geology staff by realising their contributions and efforts would ‘make a difference’ to someone’s quality of life. We were all very impressed with how our fundraising was used by the two charities last year, which made continued support for them very easy.”

“It has once again been a very humbling experience to be involved with raising money to help these great causes, and as a company we will continue our commitment to supporting our chosen charities.”

Cassie Thompson further commented:

“We’re incredibly grateful to all of the employees of HRH Geology who continue to fundraise for ARCHIE. I am always impressed by the creative range of fundraising activities that take place throughout the year. Once again, a huge thanks to everyone involved. Every penny raised will specifically go towards the refurbishment of the kitchen area at the Parents Suite Accommodation which is used by 6,500 families each year. The facilities are situated on site at the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.

"Currently there is only a microwave and the plan is to extend the kitchen area to make it much bigger and to have all the essential kitchen items in place such as cooker. Having the right environment, people and equipment close has been shown to make a very real difference to how quickly a child recovers from illness. The total cost for the project is £56,000 and the money raised from all staff at HRH Geology is an extremely generous contribution. We are also delighted that HRH Geology will be supporting ARCHIE once again in 2012."
