Dr Paul Monagahan

Paul joined as a trustee in 2023.

He is a senior manager within the NHS and currently holds responsibility for the delivery of services provided to children, young people and families within NHS Tayside. Prior to taking this role Paul lead the delivery of Adult Inpatient Mental Health and Learning Disability services.

 

Paul has a broad range of senior management and board-level experience gained in the criminal justice sector, further and higher education, third sector, local government, and central government. General themes running through Paul’s experience has been that of service planning and improvement, policy development, and establishing new services.

 

Paul has been involved in several national initiatives that have been implemented to improve public services and safety. Two interesting examples of this involvement are the National Data Sharing Forum that preceded the formation of Disclosure Scotland and the development of Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements that are now used to manage serious and violent offenders in the community.

 

Prior to joining the Archie Foundation, Paul contributed to the foundation’s Clinical Advisory Committee within NHS Tayside, which developed links with clinical services and established new funding streams to support families to access health services following the pandemic.
