She is the Energy Services Agreement Manager at Offshore Energies UK (OEUK).  Irene has over 25 years’ professional experience in Human Resources having worked in both energy services and manufacturing sectors.

Irene joined Offshore Energies UK, in January 2021, from the Offshore Contractors Association (OCA). OEUK is the leading representative body for the UK offshore energy industries. It is a not-for-profit organisation with a pedigree stretching back almost half a century.   Prior to her time at the OCA, Irene worked in various senior HR roles for Wood Group and International Paper over a 28-year period.  She has particular expertise in industrial and employee relations having delivered a wide range of complex and strategic projects. Her current role is to manage the Energy Services Agreement (ESA) on behalf of the 15 employer signatories and 3 trade unions.  The ESA is a collective bargaining agreement, that sets out the minimum terms and conditions for the offshore workforce covered within the scope of the agreement. Which is seen as an essential part in maintaining good employee relations by identifying critical areas for improvement that can support the supply chain through the changing needs of the energy industry.

Irene and her partner Michael are parents to their energetic 7-year-old daughter Lottie who was born at 32 weeks and spent 23 days in the loving care of the Aberdeen Neo-natal Unit.  As a thank you to the unit for the fantastic attention received Irene and Michael held a fundraising ball which seen a donation of £30,000 presented to the unit to contribute towards an additional Giraffe Incubator.  Irene then joined the Friends of the Neonatal Unit committee 2017 and has supported the team with the financial elements as well as fundraising events.

When not working or taxiing Lottie to her many out of school activities you will find all three relaxing in their caravan or joining various vintage Steam Traction Engine rally’s up and down the UK.

Irene also volunteers for the local Girl Guiding group in Kintore by providing administration support to the Unit Leader of the Brownies.
