Mike Reidy

Mike joined as a trustee in September 2022, he is on the Board of Trustees and Project Planning committee.

 

Mike is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in paediatric and adult hip conditions. He completed undergraduate training in Glasgow and trained in Tayside and Inverness (both areas that Archie supports) before spending a year of specialist training in AlderHey Hospital in Liverpool.

 

Mike is primarily based in R.A.C.H but also continues to look after patients at Ninewells in Tayside and Raigmore hospitals in Highlands.

 

He is actively involved in national clinical research as the primary and associated investigator on several studies and also in BSCOS (British Society for Children’s Orthopaedic Surgery)

 

Mike is a huge supporter of Archie and has taken part in many fundraising initiatives for us including Beard for Bairns, Ride the North, the Ellon Pedal Car Race and most recently he captained Team NHS at Battle of the Badges.

  • Mike has been a consultant surgeon for 3 years
  • He introduced intra-operative 3D fluoroscopy for paediatric orthopaedic patients in Aberdeen
  • He has undertaken several cycling sportives
  • He was a team doctor for a Scottish premier league team for 8 years
